Open Question: 1979 VW bus transporter for a 17 year old?
Okay, I am a Senior in high school and I will be graduating in June, but arrive this summer I will be driving to Alaska (from Ohio). So, I am going to school in Australia, and I want a bus to steer across the United States to Alaska. I would be going with my cousins and we would steer to California, then to Alaska. Now, do you think this is a good decision? It would be a summer car and once I head off to school in Australia, my dad would either sell it, or it would be kept with my cousins. If my dad did decide to let me have it, it would be within the next 4 weeks (winter) What's the Mpg? What's the likelihood of it breaking down? (%?) If you think this is an absolutely horrible idea, than what is a good van/bus to steer across the United States in? (for say around 7 to 8 people) the trip would most likely take around 5 weeks...... thank you thank you! Open Question: Car accident and I left the scene ?
So it was a minor accident, nobody injured and little car damage. we both got out of the car talked then the guy asks for my insurance, I say okay and receive in the car, noticing I have no damage, the other driver gets in his car and pulls into his driveway (it happened right in front of his home) at which time I just steer off. He probably didn't look my plates so I am wondering if anything can happen. Also if he did somehow receive my plates will my insurance contact me or the police and in what time?

Open Question: Did anyone really like Twilight?
I actually just saw it an hour ago, but I already know how i feel. I really adore the actual series of books by Stephanie Meyer, but I just saw the movie, and I think it was awful. The only reason i don't hate it is because it was so HILARIOUS! The acting was HORRIBLE! Why are Angela and Eric suddenly Japanese? What was with the randomly going off into the woods before school started? What is up with jacob? What about the spring dance? It wasn't PROM mike and eric asked her to, it was the girls-ask-boys spring dance!!! What happened to when edward and bella were sitting together at lunch? it's like BAM "we shouldnt be friends," BAM Edward saves her from a gang or rapists, and BAM theyre making out in her bedroom! WTF?!?! What about Jacob? WHY WAS CARLISLE SO CREEPY?!?! The only GOOD thing about this movie, was Robert Pattinson as Edward. I thought he did really well. I thought the movie was a disapointment, but if you haven't read the book, you really should! I probably will look the sequel, just to look if it's as bad as the first. Probobly worse, considering Edward, or lack thereof. Important scenes that were missing: -"Do I dazzle you?" at the restaurant -Carlisle's story -Blood typing -Bella's letter to Edward -Bella and Edward sitting together at lunch -Tyler asking Bella to the dance -Edward driving like a maniac -I also thought the whole car-accident thing was a little lacking.

Open Question: Do you think i was rude to her?
I work at quick food store and when I was working on steer thru yesterday , I took a customers order at the steer thru speaker and when she came to the window to pay for her order she gave a dirty look and she said "tell your manager that I am going to sue them because I just destroyed my car with a bump while she was driving on steer thru." then I just said” well no one asked to you to arrive". After that I told one of my coworkers and she told me that that was rude for me to say that to her. Do you think I was rude?

Open Question: Funny question about Yahoo answers?
Has anyone else noticed the dumb useless inconsequential questions constantly being asked in the every questions section? I just thought I'd ask to look if anyone is out there paying attention. I think it's silly how people post their problems and leave you to figure them out. They might even just be totally made up situations. Then people sit there and upon deep contemplation they answer. It's so freakin silly. I also admire the questions containing HELLLP PLEASE. Ha ha ha ha that one just pulls you right in don't it? For every you guys out there...don't try to answer a chicks question about a relationship 'cause we don't understand that stuff and don't need to and if you read too much into it you might as well bend over and spread 'em baby 'cause your manhood has just vegetated and now you're a fruit! I'm not hatein on you ladies out there I'm just lookin out for my boys. I also must admire those extremely vague and open ended questions that don't even really ask anything. I like to read people's answers to those, it's silly stuff. Do you like those really short simple questions that just demand a long complicated answer, like how does a car work? or somethin else to put you running on a treadmill and going nowhere. I like those questions that have a lot of captivating and engaging writting in them that basically pulls a commitment out of you to answer, like this one! Do you like those questions that ask multiple questions? Well, that's my question. Can you answer it? Try it out, take your time, think about it. I'd adore to know your answers.

Open Question: How long should it take for the bruises on my legs to go away?
I was in a really bad car accident on the first of october, so almost 2 months ago now and luckily escaped quite intact just bruises and scratches...the only thing is i've still got bruises on my legs, from my knees to my shins. It was a really strong impact and i took it on my side, i just expected it to go by now as i don't bruise easily and i'm generally a very fit person. It's not constantly painful but at times,especially when the weathers wet i do receive aches.

Open Question: I am kinda pissed off at two of my friends?
Normally I do these quiz questions our teacher gives us before quizzes to study off of for the quiz with two of my friends and for our purposes their names will be Brett and Bob. So normally we go on skype and talk about them blah blah blah. Yesterday at Track practice Brett left earlier, he told coach he was sick, and he pretty much isnt too great at track so i thought he just wanted to leave. When i talked to him later to do the questions he said he was sick and going to bed. When i talked to Bob to do the questions he said he wasnt doing them, and Bob always reads the chapter like 2 times and does the quiz questions like 2 times aswell. I knew something was up at least for Bob. Today they both werent in school. I figured something was going on. I go to practice arrive home, and find out they went to boston, Brett gives me this whole speech about how he was sick and went to snooze but he was in Bobs car at the time, which wasnt his bed like he told me yesterday, which is a lie. They went up too look at colleges, and the fact that Bob didnt ask me to go doesnt bother me cause i couldnt have gone eiterh way cause of track. But the issue that does bother me is the fact that they didnt tell me the truth yesterday when i asked them to do the questions. They said they didnt want to tell me cause there was only room for 2 people with his family, but I dont care about that. I care about the lies. The lies that were told to cover up the truth which was witheld from me. So basically am i wrong in being pissed off at both of them, cause i personally dont think so and netiher does my parents, they just thought it was bullshit as do i..

I know, I'm a slut. I was never slutty before, I dressed reasonably and stuff, but now I feel like a slut. I don't know what got into me. I'm scared. If I tell my mom, I swear to God, she will NOT understand! She'll think that I WANTED to do it with him, even though I didn't! I don't know what got into me! Open Question: I think I might have OCD?
I am completely paranoid about so many things, like demonic possession, even though logically I know it's absurd.. And also about being watched and stalked or something like that, and about answering the door and meeting new people.. And If I happen to be thinking about something bad, and I look at the time and it is like 6:33 or 1:23, or something that adds up to 6 or 9 or 3 or 13 or something like that.. I have really bad insomnia too, like I'll be up till like 3 when I go to bed at like 10.. And I'll just be worrying about things, or daydreaming.. I hate that I'm like this.. I'm also extremely shy and silent sometimes, and other times I'm super outgoing.. And I hate meeting new people usually, and I never know what to introduce myself as, because everyone pronounces my name completely differently. Also, when I'm in a car, I will count the cracks in the road, or imagine the car going over and below them.. And I try to cease but I always end up doing it.. And I always receive paranoid that bugs will receive every over me, (I've had multiple panic attacks about this, where I've actually had to take medicine) or that I will step on them or something.. (I'm vegan btw) And I'm always worried that I will accidentally eat something with animal products in it.. Do you think that I have OCD? Should I tell my therapist about it? :S

Open Question: I'm stuck in a bad job situation what should I do?
I quit my job in June because I was being harrassed by my boss. She constantly threatened to flame me calling me replaceable and she'd call me an idiot and make fun of me in front of clients calling me a charity case. i snapped emotionally and quit. that was in june. since then i couldnt find a job. i applied to 50 different places and worked odd jobs to skate by. Well I got offered a nanny position recently. I jumped for joy. It doesnt pay good but its a job I adore. I was supposed to make 200 a week to babysit two girls a 3 and 4 year old 40 hours per week. Well I started three weeks ago and have got maybe 30 hours in every together tops because shes "in training" at her new job and doesn't need me much. I made 100 the first week, 65 this week, and she anticipated maybe 40 next week. She promises I'll work full time the first week of December. Well I'm going to lose my car insurance because I'm not making what we agreed upon. I don't know how to handle it. Quitting would be stupid because I can't find anything else. But I'm afraid she's going to drag me along like this and then let me go. And she tells me I'll work til 6 but her husband rushes home at 4 so they wont have to pay me as much. And she asks family members to sit several times a week. I brought it up but she assures me it is temporary, but originally it was only supposed to be like that for a week. The worst part is my husband says its every my fault. He says I took a pathetic job like that I should embrace the consequences. I asked him not to criticize me I'm doing my best its difficult finding a job when I'm young and not throuhg college and he said, "if you wont take a job at mcdonalds dont complain about this one." unhappy thing is i did apply at mcdonalds but heard nothing back i even called. im only 19 i know the economy makes it difficult to find a job but im still putting in apps even though i have this one. my husband said im an idiot and a doormat. i havent been pushy to my employer because i dont want them finding somebody else. what i make right now is better than 0. help???

Open Question: If I get a new remote key-less system programmed for my car, will my existing (old) remote continue to work?
I recently bought a used car with remote key-less entry. The remote key works fine but the case is broken. I just wanted to receive the case replaced, but found that it is difficult to receive the case alone - rather I have to replace the whole remote and also program the new remote for my car. My son had the airbags off and burn him, he has a seatbelt injury on his neck and whiplash and had glass taken out of his face and arms in the ambulance. Open Question: My mum smashed my car windscreen and refuses to pay for it?
My mum has always broken things when she's mad and this time she took it out on my car. I tried to talk to her with my gran gift so it wouldn't be her shouting at me. I'm three months pregnant and I wanted to sort it out. But the moment she saw me she shouted at my gran and said she was a stupid, old, meddling b!tch. Which was uncalled for. She knocked over my gran's vase which was one I made her. After my gran calm down because she was very upset, I left to find my car windscreen smashed and a note left by my mum. Open Question: What if a car hits me when the pedestrian sign says "walk"?
I like to run around our town, and I make sure to use the pedestrian signal lights to cross streets to be safe. Well today when the light said "walk" I was beginning to run across on the crosswalk, and then i look a car arrive speeding up like it going to hit me, so I cease. But it stopped after it saw me cease in the middle of the crosswalk. Before that, there were several cars that did not even acknowledge that I could walk and kept on going. Don't pedestrians have the right of way? What if I were to receive hit by a car one day, when the signal clearly said I was supposed to walk? Would it be my fault I guess for not looking carefully enough? Or the drivers for not obeying the traffic signal for pedestrians?

So here's my story (sorry if its a big long): My mom and I have never really been that close. She actually doesn't know that much about me and we have never really had like a one on one conversation about anything I'm interested in or anything of that sort. My mom has always been close to my younger sister. My sister and I are 5 years apart. I'm a senior in high school and she's in 7th grade. So recently my mom picked up my report card and this is what I got: Anatomy&Physiology Honors: C A.P. Calculus: D Guitar: A Dance 2: A Office Aide: A A.P. Literature: F Studio Art Honors: B From looking at my report card this is what she said/asked: "Do you even care? Do you even want to go to college? Because if you don't, fine. I'm not going to argue and battle with you anymore, if you don't want to go to college fine, but at least finish high school." Then when we got into the car this is what she said: "I'm not comparing you to your sister, but I always look her doing her homework and not you. If your grades are going to be like that, then I think you should look for a job now so that if you do plan on going to college, you can at least say that its because of work. You know how bad that looks on me when you do bad? It makes me look like I failed in raising you." [Here's the thing... my sister is in 7th grade and her work is so much easier than mine. Yes, I know I got an F on my report card and an C and a D but that doesn't go on my transcript, its just temporary. My report card is based on combing 1st and 2nd quarter and averaging the two out, so then what ever my average is that is whats going to be put on my transcript...] I was just like what the f*** the whole entire time in my head. I was so hurt that when I got home I just broke down and cried, because that feeling that your possess mom just doesn't care anymore.. that feeling that she doesn't care about you... it just really hurt me. I also thought about moving in with my dad because when she said that it makes her look bad when I don't do well on my report card, I thought well maybe I'll just move in with my dad so you won't look like you failed and plus you got my sister who is always getting straight a's anyways. So I don't know guys... I need your help... because it seems like whatever I do, even if I do my very best and give it my every... i don't think it will ever be enough for her... nothing i seemed to do is enough for her... so HELP ME PLEASE!! :( I used to be close with my dad, but then it kinda drifted because he has his possess family now, but we do talk whenever I receive the chance to look him. Last month, I was arrested because the cops did a random license-dish check, and the rental car I was driving came up as "stolen". Anyway, while I was sitting in the back of the cop car, he asked me why I pulled over, when he never asked me to tug over. I told him it was because of his actions. He didn't actually tug me over, but his actions made me think he wanted me to tug over. Here's what happened... I was driving home from the gym at night, and I noticed a cop car tailgating me. No sirens or anything. I thought nothing much of it. Then he gets in the next lane, speeds up, and pulls up right beside me, and the two cops look at me. Then he slowed up and got back behind me. I thought to myself that maybe he was just "checking me out". Sometimes cops just do this to random people. I know it happened to my dad. So I figured that was that. But then, he later flashes his spotlight at me. So I figured something was up. So I tug over to look what he wants. And that's when he yells at me to stick my hands out the window, then eventually receive out and lay on the ground, etc. And that's when about 5 other squad cars arrive out of nowhere as backup. To make a long story short, every the charges were eventually dropped and it didn't even go to court because they saw I didn't actually steal a car, I just failed to return the car to the rental agency on time. So what I want to know is, since he says he never actually told me to tug over -- then what was he planning to do? Any cops here might be able to say what the standard procedure is in this situation. Because he never told me to tug over, he just shined the spotlight once and tailgated me. Was he going to wait until backup arrived? Did he want to receive in some nice of a chase? Was he going to follow me every the way home? What procedures do cops do in this situation? Why didn't he just ask me to tug over? What happened if I just kept driving? been there done that: I did ask a question the other day concerning this issue, but it was a different question. It was a question regarding how the cops treated me. You know, roughing me up despite the fact that I cooperated and didn't resist, making smart-alec comments and cracking jokes, etc.

Open Question: Whats the point of the valet key?
You know for cars you receive two keys and then a diff colored one thats used for valets? Well whats the difference between that and the regular keys? Because it still has to work the car since the valet drives it. Wouldnt they be able to receive in the drunk since it is like the doors?

Open Question: Where can I find a Mitsubishi Lancer engine for cheap?
Our 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer broke down in the middle of the highway. We are still uncertain what happened, but the mechanic said that the best choice for us is to replace the engine. Engines can cost more than $3K, especially for Mitsubishi. Our original engine had 103,000 miles. Its only 6 years. If anyone can help us and tell us what the potenial problem may be, please do so. Its either fixing the car or getting the cheapest and newest possible car. That would be a Kia, and I don't want to ride in a KIA!!!! HELP! HELP!

Open Question: Why does the red light on my remote car opener stay on?
I have a 98 acura 2.3 cl car and it came with a remote car door-opener, we decided to change the battery on the remote and now there is a red light on the remote that just stay lit and the remote door opener will not work...why is this happening?

Open Question: Why won't my car amplifier turn on?
I install a car amplifier last January and now it won't turn on. Not sure what could have changed. I bought a simple circuit tester to look if it was still getting power. And it is. I also tested the trigger connection from the stereo and that seems active as well. Thought it was a bad amp so got a new one. It won't turn on. Suggestions? Do I need a capacitor? If so why every of a sudden? Car still starts up normally.

Open Question: do you think Obama or our future presidents should take over the world?
What I mean by this is having the EU punish emerging countries for not reducing carbon emissions. If we clip our USA carbon footprint down to zero it would only clip the carbon footprint of the world by 4%. I think it is silly that people really think they can make a huge difference before they can at least receive the emerging countries to receive to our current standards. I travel to central and south america every the time as a spanish speaking tourist. every latin countries are the same in that they have a river for throwing sewage into that flows out to sea and they have buses, trucks and cars that spew out black smoke. I can only assume that their factories do the same. Read about tamarindo costa rica, known as one of the most beautiful towns in costa rica, the hotels were dumping raw sewage in a lagoon for decades until american tourist and expatriates brought the issue public. I also think that a lot of the global warming is BS and is going to be used to increase your taxes and our businesses taxes. Next time you're in a plane at 36000 feet realize it is minus 50 degrees and we are lucky we aren't fighting global cooling (which of course we will one day if we survive that long as a species). Just be careful because the far left may be passing so many epa laws that will not be matched by these emerging countries and we will suffer financially as a nation.

Open Question: do you think i overreacted?
last night i went out to dinner with my mom-in-law, husband and son. during dinner my son started throwing a tantrum and so i took him outside with me to calm him down. he kept screaming and pitching a fit so i went back inside and asked my husband for the keys so i could sit in the car with him. i am really self concious about my son acting up in public cause i dont think it is fair to other people to have to hear to. anyways, i expected my husband to arrive out and check to look if everything was okay but he didnt. i waited for like 20 minutes and he was just sitting in there eating with his mom like i didnt even exist. i lost it! when he finally came out i yelled at him and told him that it was nice that he got to finish eating when i didnt. he told me he didnt know i wanted his help. wtf!? it would have been nice for him to ask if everything was okay with us. it is his kid too why the hell do i always have to be the one to deal with our son when he throws a fit. anyways i didnt want to argue with him and embarrass myself in the parking lot so i drove off and left him there and drove around the loop to let off some steam. i returned like 10 minutes later and got him when i was calmed down. what i want to know is did i overreact? i apologized to my mom-in-law for taking off and thanked her for the meal cause she paid and gave her a hug. but do you think i shouldnt have driven off? also i was a little embarrased and still am. cause i dont want my mom-in-law to think sick of me.

ok so him and i have just really started hangin out i mean we've been friends for a while now but not super close or nething...so the other nite we were hangin out at this meeting and i was really upset...he saw me cryin and got really concerned.....he asked me if i was ok and i told him i was fin b/c his friends where there and i didn't want to tell them....so i was able to receive him alone and i told him wat happend...we were outside at the tine...n he bent his head toward mine...put his hand on my face and i was up against a wall n he leaned his whole body toward me..as far as he could without kissing me and told me that i was a beautiful grl and shouldn't wry about this...he then took my hand and was held it...but the thing that got me confused was he said u kno i can't say i like u yet, b/c we really haven't hung out....and i aggreed with him...i mean im STARTING to like him and i think he is too....wat i gathered from that was that he DOES like me but he can't act on it b/c we aren't that close....neway so after that he asked to walk me to my car and i aggreed...the thing was i had to take my pal home so i paused outside the car and he just stared at me, then he gave me a hug...not one of those hugs that is a friendly hug but a different nice of hug....u kno wat i mean??? ok so that was tues and then i went to a hockey game on thursday and the ice rink was freezin b/c i didn't have a jacket or nething n i was like oh is it ok if i sit really close next to u?? n he was like ya sure...as close as u want!!!! he was with his buddies that nite but he talked to me more then them, and out of the corner of my eye i saw him keep lookin at me! so wat do u think?? does he???

yesterday i gave her a dog treat ( difficult to chew) and it was kinda long...now its gone and shes shaking and cant jump up on me b/c i think she swallowed it. can she die from adult tylenol????? im 13 and my mom said to give her the tylenal incase shes in pain....my mom cant convince my step dad to take her to the vet... so thats why she gave her the pill and we dont have a car...so wed have to find a ride. also my mom didnt(doesnt) know if its toxic or can kill her

Open Question: turn signal problem ?
ok i have a 72 ford galaxie 500 and the turn signals stopped working randomly but the hazard lights still work. when i bout the car the turn signal light inside did not work and the guy didnt know why then shortly after the turn signals dont work i replaced the flasher unit and the t/s flasher and still dont work. could it be the turn signal switch? when turning the left or right turn signal on it stays in the position and turns off when wheel is turned like it should just the light dont arrive on. so again could the turn signal switch be the problem? i really need help with this

Open Question: why is there a burning smell coming from where my shifter is?
I took my car in to receive repaired because it did not pass smog. When I got it back I started to steer it and now there is a burning odor coming from the area of the shifter. I am not losing any acceleration and otherwise the car seems to be doing great. I'm not riding the clutch or anything like that either. The part that needed to be replaced was the oxygen sensor. What could the problem be? the car is a 1990 Nissan Sentra manual I also noticed that when I was driving on the freeway I didn't odor it but when I came to an idol I could, or when I drove home from the store I could odor it once I got home and came to a cease.
